The Bustle Hustle

Slovenly dress may be au courant,
And some prefer their bodies to flaunt,
But I'll tell you of a fashion that delights me;
If truth be told, it rather excites me.
In the days of proper dress, I do profess,
Ladies fit up with flair and finesse.
By coyly concealing their parts appealing,
They aroused interest and amorous feeling.
It is a style that gives me a smile,
For the mystery it lends can quite beguile.
It cloaks yet accentuates the largest muscle:
I speak, of course, of the garment called the bustle.

I love a large bustle:
A lady dressed thus'll
Put a spring in my step
And a gleam in my eye;
My heartbeat will hustle
When I hear that rustle,
And a bustle I do espy.

I love a large bustle, not just halfway
Gentlemen, surely you can't gainsay
That when a lady saunters into the place
With a nice big bustle and a corseted waist
You get hard-pressed to remain composed
With a stiff upper lip and a mouth fully closed.
It'll set your mind to courting
When you see the silhouettes they're sporting
By Jove! I'd love to put my hat up there
And take a tintype of that derriére!
Despite my friends' caution, I remained oblivious;
The sight of that bustle made me lascivious!

The callipygian façade I highly regard
Is a mode society chose to discard;
So alas, the fashion which rouses my passion
Has dwindled away to a minimal ration.
A bustle spacious might seem ostentatious,
And possibly even a little salacious.
Its rôle is to emphasise the female frame;
To restore it to fashion and fame is my aim.
A bustle in the hedgerow, bushes, or thicket
Is something that I shall always find cricket.
A belly dancer is sexy and exotic,
But I think a bustle is just as erotic!
